Questionarie for breeds

Explanations | General | Description | Management | Individual

The questionarie is divided into five parts:
The first four parts (A-D) are to be filled in for each breed or population sampled
The last part (E) is to be filled in for each flock sampled

A. General information,
ie. Name of country, breed and persons to contact
B. Population information -
for this part and all others - please fill in all items where information is available - note that there is no information

C. Description (2 pages)
- Colours: The column for main colour indicates the main colours known in North European sheep with a two digit colour code. This code is also to be used for description of individuals in part E
Provide approximate percentages of sheep in the population with each colour - if that is not possible for all categories, please indicate whether the colour is found in the population or not.
The second column, for colour pattern is for indication of two-coloured (piebald) patterns within each of the main colour types. For white sheep, please indicate proportion with tan fibres - for non-white sheep, please indicate proportion of two-coloured sheep.

Uses of breed -please provide approximate division of production value between products. Management type and feeding - indicate one or more alternative as appropriate for the breed

E. Individual form.
Fill in one form for each flock where animals are sampled. There is space for 8 individuals on each form - should be enough for sampling in a single flock.
A list of breeds to be included in the project,with number codes, follows on next page. Please fill in individual numbers of parents and grandparents when possible - if not, indicate any closerelationships between sampled animals (where known) Table of breed and groups included in the project
