SOIL
HORIZON DESCRIPTION:

Ah:    3-18 cm; black (10YR 2/1.5), wet, very weak consistence, moderately developed medium granular structure, sandy loam, slightly stony, subangular small and medium stones, abundant roots, diffuse and wavy to Bw horizon through AB

AB:    18-43 cm; dark brown (10YR 3/4), wet, moderately weak consistence, moderately developed medium granular structure, sandy loam, slightly stony, subangular small and medium; stones, abundant roots

Bw1:  43-73 cm; brown to dark brown (7.5YR 4/4), wet, moderately weak consistence, moderately developed medium granular structure, clay loam, very stony, subangular medium and large stones, common woody roots, thixotropic properties, gradual and wavy boundary to next horizon.

WRB (2001): ochric horizon (0-43 cm; colour chroma AB too high for mollic or umbric horizon); silandic horizon (43-73 cm); vitric (depending on volcanic glass content) horizon (3-43 cm); >40% coarse framents below 43 cm; BS <50% between 3 and 73 cm:

Silandi-Vitric Andosol (Endoskeletic and Epidystric)

ST (1999): ochric epipedon (0-43 cm); cambic horizon (43-123 cm); andic soil properties between 3 and 143 cm; KCl-extractable Al > 2.0 cmol(+) kg-1 is assumed to occur between 25 and 50 cm because of high total acidity:
